Mariganama Agricultural Service SC is founded by a coalition of 51 AOSS owners who have been instrumental in supporting smallholder farmers through the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) in February 2022 in Modjo town, Oromia region. The company has been established with the general objective to import high quality agricultural inputs of various agro-chemicals, veterinary medicines, pure seeds, agricultural machineries, & equipment, fertilizer and to distribute it in a sustainable manner to the local farmers through its AOSS members with reasonable price and to engage in export trade of agricultural products .
The company has been also aimed to promote proper usage and handling of agricultural inputs providing intensive technical training and advisory services to its AOSS members and local beneficiary farmers as well. Moreover, the company will be engaged in export trading of agricultural products playing its role to boost the economic growth of the region generating foreign currency from the export trade and maximizing its profit as a accompany.

During its establishment, the subscribed share capital was amounted to 58,000,000 (Fifty eight million) Eth. Birr and currently, after two years its establishment the prescribed share amount has been reached to 118,000,000 (One hundred eighteen million) Birr declaring to sell additional more shares of 24,000 with total values of 60,000,000 Birr.
Current Financial Status
According to the independent external auditor’s report of 2023 fiscal year, the company has been performed annual turnover of Birr 31.343 million from agrochemical inputs and registered gross profit of 4.645 million Eth. Birr in its first year of business operation.
Legal Status of the company
The Company has been established according the prevailing Ethiopian commercial code of proclamation No. 1243/2021. Currently, the company has been already issued five (5) types of business licenses:
- Import trade in industrial, agricultural and construction materials and other related works.
- Wholesale trade in chemicals for agricultural use.
- Export of pepper & spices, pulses, oilseeds, cereals and Fruit & vegetables.
- Wholesale of veterinary drugs, medical equipment and accessories.
- Import trade in animal medical supply and equipment
- Technical training and advisory services
Among the above trading licenses , importation of agrochemical inputs under operation starting to supply agrochemicals and distributed to its agricultural one stop shop centers (AOSS) soon after a year ago of the company’s establishment by 2022.
